The Jarvis at 220

We have traveled all over and especially love a great historical BnB; and the Jarvis is now in our Top 3. The breakfast was wonderful, location- perfect, room amenities- tops, comfort of bed and softness of sheets- you’ll melt in them! Very clean, with nice coffee/tea bar + bottled water. Lovely front porch to rock on and watch New Bern pass by w/ a cup of coffee or beverage of your choice in the evening. Ian- he’s fantastic and simply knows everything about hospitality and the area. Do not hesitate to stay here at the Jarvis.

The Jarvis At 220 was the perfect spot for a 3 day visit to New Bern. Innkeeper, Ian, was a gracious and welcoming host, even when they had a problem with our booked room. He went beyond what was expected to make our stay comfortable. The house and grounds were clean and had a great variety of areas to relax in. We enjoyed the fire pit on the back porch on a beautiful evening! The breakfast menu was delicious and something different each of the three mornings we stayed at the Inn. The location is perfect to access the downtown shops, attractions, historic district and restaurants. What a lovely stay in a lovely city! Thank you Ian!!!

The Gleason Cottage at Jarvis was the best accommodation we have ever experienced. The attention to detail that went into the design, execution, and decor of the space was superb. The very comfortable bed, luxurious shower, huge closet with washer/dryer, full kitchen, and carefully selected furnishings, made the Gleason a peaceful getaway. The icing on the cake were the special breakfasts that Ian thoughtfully prepared each morning. This is a one-of-a-kind gem and we will be back!

The Jarvis is an amazing property!! From the front porch to the fluffy pillows, everything was exceptional. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Brandi, the owner was on site, and offered superb southern hospitality. Ian, took care of every detail, and is quite an amazing chef. They both offered plenty of advice on must do’s and eats. Very convenient walk to a lovely downtown with everything you could want or need. We look forward to coming back very soon.

My husband and I have been staying at B & B's for 28 years and the Jarvis is our favorite! Not only was the house spotless and beautifully decorated, the innkeeper, Ian Smith, made our visit priceless. The breakfasts he served were delicious and beautifully presented. Ian has a great eye for details to make your visit memorable. He is by far the most cordial and attentive innkeeper we have ever encountered and made us feel like a guest in his home. We stayed in the cottage and it was worth every penny.

What an amazing weekend at Jarvis 220. Truly the R&R we needed, staying in the Sunset Suite; perfect for a couple and very elegant and calming! The owners, Michael and Denise were welcoming, friendly, accommodating, and definitely present to assist with the needs of all who were staying there! All the years we have traveled and stayed at B&Bs, this one absolutely is in our top five! It was spotless, with the highest quality toiletries, linens, towels, down to the smallest detail. Denise is quite the chef, and spoiled us with her yummy breakfasts! She even provided wine and cheese Friday evening upon our arrival! New Bern was just lovely and everything we had remembered…friendly, quaint, great restaurants and selection of breweries…we drove out to Oriental and had a lovely lunch at Yawl’s…definitely worth the trip! We will return sooner than later. Thanks again Michael and Denise! P.S. Jarvis 220 is a lovely wedding venue, as witnessed by us during our stay…truly amazing, and magical♥️
